Lasse Sortkjær is a furniture designer and graduate from Via Design in 2014. With a background in the construction industry, Lasse enjoys creating things that will last for decades. A desire to have an influence on the whole aesthetic process made him change his tracks and pursue a career within design. Lasse approaches design with a focus on entity – where the innovative but simple lines play together with the functionality in the design. Even though Lasse seeks inspiration in contemporary art, he on the contrary to art prioritizes functionality as high as the aesthetics, which according to him creates the wholeness.
“For me, a design is only good when aesthetics and functionality are in balance. Whether it is a large or small design project, I focus on the whole that is created by aesthetics and functionality.”
